Пряничный человечек

Пряничного мальчика слепил однажды пекарь.
Положил на лавочку и не ждал побега.

Человечек заморгал: "Я вам - не печенье!"
Встал на ножки - и удрал в город, к приключеньям.

"Ты беги, беги за мной,
Быстро, как умеешь.
Не поймаешь всё равно,
Я тебя умнее!"

Старый пекарь и жена бросились вдогонку -
Прочь умчался мальчуган, распевая звонко:

"Ты беги, беги за мной,
Быстро, как умеешь.
Я и пекаря с женой,
И тебя умнее"

Шум на площади: свинья, заяц и корова
Окружили беглеца. Улизнул он снова!

"Ты беги, беги за мной,
Быстро, как умеешь.
Я коровы со свиньёй,
И тебя умнее".

Все толпой за ним бегут, но догнать не могут.
Вдруг тупик - глубокий пруд. Как бы не размокнуть?

"Ты беги, беги за мной,
Быстро, как умеешь.
Я толпы, что рвется в бой,
И тебя умнее"

Вдруг откуда не возьмись, чуя запах теста,
Появился рыжий лис: "Ты на спину мне садись. 
Переправлю. Честно!"

Перепуганный совсем, но собою гордый,
Прыгнул на спину лисе, а потом на морду:

"Ты беги, беги за мной,
Быстро, как умеешь.
Я и пекаря с женой,
И коровы со свиньёй,
И толпы, что рвется в бой,
Всех вокруг умнее!"

Только лис - известный плут, ясно - жди подвоха.
Рот открыл - мальцу капут, не успел и охнуть!

Gingerbread Man

Who leapt from the oven ready to play.

He came to a pond that blocked his path
And gingerbread men don’t like to bath.
Out jumped a fox who said, “hop on,
I will take you safely across the pond.”

I ran from the baker and his wife too.
You’ll never catch me, not any of you.
He climbed up onto the fox’s back,
Who licked his lips and wanted to snack.
He climbed onto the fox’s head,
Who loved the taste of gingerbread.
Run, run, run as fast as you can.
You’ll never catch me I’m the gingerbread man.
He trusted the fox to help his plan
And that was the end of the gingerbread man
