Publisher's Summary:
The case against Lyndon B. Johnson and his role in Kennedy's assassination has never been sounder. LBJ aims to prove that Vice President Johnson played an active role in the assassination of President Kennedy and that he began planning his takeover of the U.S. presidency even before being named the vice presidential nominee in 1960.
Lyndon B. Johnson's flawed personality and character traits, formed as a child, grew unchecked for the rest of his life as he suffered severe bouts of manic-depressive illness. He successfully hid this disorder from the public as he bartered, stole, and finessed his way through the corridors of power on Capitol Hill, though it's recorded that some of his aides knew of his struggle with bipolar disorder.
After years of researching Johnson and the JFK assassination, Phillip F. Nelson conclusively shows that LBJ had an active role in JFK's assassination, and he includes newly uncovered photographic evidence proving that Johnson knew when and where Kennedy's assassination would take place. Nelson's careful and meticulous research has led him to uncover secrets from one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in our country's history.

Editorial Reviews:
Philip F. Nelson hopes to show that Lyndon B. Johnson played a major role in the Kennedy assassination, and unlike the baseless speculation and second-hand hearsay found elsewhere, Nelson grounds his claims with historical and biographical fact in a well-structured narrative that connects LBJ's youthful character flaws to the shady dealings in his early political life, and finally to the mentality that led him to - as Nelson asserts - assassinate JFK. Nelson is assisted in part by the convincing work of Fred Sanders, who is able to convey a believable curiosity and confidence while boldly implicating the 36th president.

Members Reviews:
LBJ plotted to kill JFK? Makes you think...
If you're an assassination conspiracy fan you won't want to miss this audiobook by Phillip F. Nelson. The author has obviously put years into researching his premise and builds a very convincing structure of a conspiracy that puts LBJ at the forefront of the assassination of JFK. I've read every (and I mean every!) publication on this topic and this title ranks at the top of the pile when it comes to research and writing. It makes you truly consider LBJ as a primary conspirator. It could benefit from some editing - perhaps the abridged version is actually a better listen - because it is a long audiobook and there are some tedious expositional sections. Still, it is WELL WORTH THE LISTEN if you enjoy this topic. There are certainly many out there that don't reach this level of documentation and writing.
The narration is average - no great contribution. Fred Sanders gives a journeyman performance with too many mispronunciations (my pet peeve) for comfort. But, it's not a bad listen...just average. The writing is good enough to carry the performance.
If you like this subject go ahead and use the credit.

Mind blowing
Well researched, very thorough.  The  premise is very  compelling and I for one was persuaded  with the author's argument.

A compelling circumstantial case
By his own admission, Nelson has no background in politics, law, or journalism. Yet he is as incisive in his analysis and as eloquent in his communication as many in those fields.

Over the decades, numerous theories have emerged, questioning the possibility of a broader conspiracy. Critics argue that inconsistencies in the evidence, conflicting eyewitness accounts, and the rapid closure of the investigation have left significant gaps in the official explanation. As a result, books, documentaries, and academic studies have continually revisited the details of that fateful day, suggesting that other parties, including elements within government or organized crime, may have been involved.

In recent years, renewed discussion about Kennedy’s assassination has gained momentum. The release of previously classified documents, along with advances in forensic technology, has provided fresh insights that prompt experts and researchers to re-examine the historical record. This resurgence of interest is also driven by the modern era’s emphasis on transparency and accountability in government. As new analyses emerge, traditional interpretations of the event are being challenged, with some advocates calling for a comprehensive re-investigation into all aspects of the case.

The enduring fascination with President Kennedy’s legacy, combined with modern investigative tools, has transformed public discourse surrounding the assassination. Today, renewed discussion serves not only as a means to honor his memory but also as a reminder of the importance of questioning historical narratives and seeking truth. In this ongoing debate, every new piece of evidence contributes another layer to a complex and unresolved puzzle that continues to captivate historians and the public alike.

Recent scholarly debates and investigative breakthroughs have reinvigorated interest in the Kennedy assassination, prompting calls for further governmental transparency and a fresh, unbiased review of historical records to finally resolve the enduring mysteries surrounding that fateful day with renewed urgency.

On October 24, 1956, Lee Harvey Oswald dropped out of high school and joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he received training as a sharpshooter.
Interestingly On October 31st, 1959, Oswald defected to the Soviet Union and began working at an electronics factory in Minsk.

After a year On June the 13th, 1962, Oswald returned to the United States with his wife, Marina, and their child, settling in Texas.

Oswald rented a P.O. Box number 2915 at the Dallas post office under his real name a rental he maintained until May 14th, 1963.

On March 13, Klein's Sporting Goods of Chicago received a mail order for a World War 2-surplus Italian 1891 Carcano and the Model is a 1938 rifle.
The order totaled $21.45 ($19.95 for the rifle plus $1.50 for postage and handling) and was placed by someone using the Alias A. Hidell an alias known to be used by Oswald.

The rifle, which came equipped with a 4 times scope and bore the serial number C 2766, and was known for its effective range of around 500 meters with accurate shooting capabilities up to 800 meters depending on the specific model and shooter proficiency.

It holds six rounds in its internal magazine, loaded using a six-round en-bloc clip.

1963: Leading Up to the Day of the Assassination
October 15

Ruth Paine arranges a job interview for Oswald at the Texas School Book Depository with superintendent Roy Truly.
Oswald is hired as a temporary clerk for $1.25 per hour and starts the next day.
Before the Shooting

The motorcade leaves Hotel Texas at 10:40 a.m. for Carswell Air Force Base. Air Force One departs Carswell at 11:20 a.m. for Dallas, and both Air Force One and Air Force Two arrive at Love Field at 11:35 a.m.

There, the Kennedys, along with Texas Governor John Connally and his wife, disembark and are greeted by Vice President Lyndon Johnson and his wife.

At 11:50 a.m

several co-workers see Oswald eating lunch on the first floor of the Depository—just as the motorcade begins its journey through Dallas from Love Field.

At 11:55 a.m

the motorcade departs Love Field, delayed slightly by President Kennedy’s interactions with supporters in Dealey Plaza.

At 12:29 p.m

the motorcade turned onto Houston Street and entered Dealey Plaza.

One minute later, at 12:30, it made a sharp left onto Elm Street, a downward-sloping road. As the limousine entered the plaza, Nellie Connally turned to the president and said, "Mr. President, they can't make you believe there aren't some in Dallas who love and appreciate you, can they?" Kennedy replied, "No, they sure can't," his final words.
