Песнь любви
Perhaps you think you truly know
What love may give, what love may show—
A guiding star, a fateful bond,
A whispered vow that lies beyond.
But love is not so soft a thing,
Nor idle breath on fleeting wing.
It marks the roads where none have gone,
Yet leaves us lost when dreams are done.
Did you exchange the fire bright
For embers fading into night?
Did passion’s blaze, once fierce and wide,
Now smolder low, now shrink and hide?
Or did you trade what love demands
For golden dust in trembling hands?
To live in light yet walk alone,
A king upon a broken throne?
And still, despite the roads we tread,
Love waits where silence fears to tread.
It asks no less, it gives no more—
But leads us home through fate’s dark door.
