Impersonators

sunset in our small town
staring at the firm ground
 soon it is filth
right under your feet
withered like carnations torrid conversations
sweat like the tears
 descent your red cheeks

rolling cobblestones up hill
your saddened poetry like pills
bitter to swallow
I'll make it till the end I swear
think it's time to start to pray
away you sorrow

so tell me

if you wanted to erase me
send your demons so they chase me
till I wake up in embers
I'm falling do I even sound like crazy
madman buried down in daisies
etched in stones our fakes name
we were just impersonators
oh we both just played pretending

smoking at the terrace
Burning like the candles
will you come back for more?
Should I lock the door?

say it wasn't ribald
 just below the belt i
'knew it's enough of us heading south

grind away another dose
find the world that no one knows
drive the direction
look over head afield
look at me like no one did
am I your exception

of you wanted to erase me
why did you start to chase me
till I wake up in embers
I'm falling flashlights cutting through the haze I'm
madman buried down in daisies
engraving in stone your fake name
we were impersonators
we were just fallen angels

Maybe you just fear to tread
I'm the one who makes a step
while you're taking thousand back
flock of crows gyrate around
I am dead in roundabout
finally you left my head

so baby
was it really worth the ending
wa it worth this cheap pretending
just for the sake of semper
did you send me this high to embrace me
flashlights cutting through the haze im
falling like rained November
we were impersonators
we were unlucky actors
we're both impersonators
