The nights like this
Are, looking back,
The combats of the past…
The hearts of ancient kings
Would shake
And strive for bursting fight.
The trembling bells
Would wake the domes
And break the walls of forts!
The blazing torches
Overwhelmed
Placidity of churches.
The capitals of marble
would, perhaps,
In ruin see the day.
The feet of worriers
Would step
On diamonds - ground laid.
The deadly nights
Would set alight
Descending rays of hope,
As if the virtues
In the heights
Could spell the moral codes!
What if they could…
The rest of us
Would share the earthly pace.
But, still, arising out of the dust,
The spirits are the same…
