Starfall

(Verse 1)
The sky spilled out its glittering stars tonight,
Or maybe it just didn't sleep a wink.
You gave those stars away, a careless, cheap delight,
And said, "Well, that's just how things sink."

(Verse 2)
A black sun hangs outside the pane,
Shining for days, a constant, weary glare.
I'd crumble into grains of sand again,
Just to escape this shadow I must bear.

(Verse 3)
A constellation scattered on my skin,
Feels alien now, a borrowed, fading grace.
I'd gladly punch myself, and let the turmoil begin,
Just to stop this inner, losing race.

(Verse 4)
The nights keep suffocating me, a heavy shroud,
With memories of meetings now decayed.
I'd curse the ones who whisper, speaking loud,
"Time heals all wounds," a hollow charade.

(Verse 5)
(Repeating words - emphasizes the relentless feeling)
Stars danced and stars were given, stars adored,
Stars were lit, stars were counted, slow and low,
Stars were gathered, fingers strange and foreign,
Stars were gathered, into pockets, empty, hollow.

(Outro)
Stars... given... gathered... empty... (fade out)
