Белоснежный дикий кугуар
Идет один над лазурной ниточкой,
Длинный хвост с черной кисточкой
Служит рулем при прыжках с вышки.

В полете с высоких отвесных скал,
Преследуя быстроногую лань,
Мудрый кот на невидимых крыльях
Над жертвой парит кружась по камням.

Ухватившись когтями за рога или холку
Душит добычу ударами оземь
Бесстрашный охотник, взор его грозен,
Мчится по следу один, втихомолку.

Лазает по веткам царапая метки,
Среди нахлебников юных барибалов,
Пума, подобно тиграм с леопардами,
Режет больше зверья, чем съесть предполагала.

В ночи за добычей  плавает ныряя,
Зимуя и летуя в зонах родного края,
Трусит рысцой по вехам нового века
С изяществом грации добиваясь успеха,

Climbing along the branches, scratching marks
Among the freeloaders of young baribals
A puma, like tigers and leopards
Cuts more animals than it intended to eat

At night, he swims diving for prey
Wintering and summering in the zones of his native land
Trotting along the milestones of the new century

Un couguar sauvage blanc telle la neige
Marche seul sur un fil d'azur
La longue queue avec un noir pompon 
Sert de gouvernail lors du saut d’une grotte.

En fuite depuis de hautes falaises
Poursuivant une biche aux pieds rapides
Un chat sage plane sur des ailes invisibles
Au-dessus de sa victime, sautant sur les roches.

Saisissant les cornes ou le garrot avec ses griffes
Il ;trangle la proie ; coups de poing ; terre
Le chasseur intr;pide, le regard mena;ant
S';lance seul, tranquillement, sur la piste.

En grimpant aux branches, en griffant des traces
Parmi les pique-assiettes de jeunes baribals
Le puma, comme les tigres et les l;opards
Coupe plus d'animaux qu'il n'en avait l'intention de manger.

La nuit, il nage et plonge pour attraper sa proie
Hivernant et volant dans les zones de sa terre natale
Au trot le long des jalons du nouveau si;cle
Abtenant du succ;s avec une gracieuse ;l;gance.
