I am
I am the person people have.
They come and go, yet here I stand,
A soul that’s touched by every hand.
I am the vessel, worn and wide,
A sea that swells with every tide.
But even oceans need the rain,
To fill the depths and ease the strain.
I am the tree that gives its shade,
Yet underneath, its roots are frayed.
For in the earth, I seek my ground,
A place to rest, to be unbound.
I am the sky, so vast, so high,
Yet cloud and storm, too, pass me by.
A hand to lift, a voice to call,
To catch the winds when I may fall.
