star-crossed

Late in the parking lot in the park.
Struck by your brown eyes, shot in the dark.
I fumble for gold chain, the black heart-shaped key.
I fasten around your neck
the one, that you gave away

The red shirt and black tie, the wind in your hair
I ran off the prayers, you ran off the stairs
December thirteenth, the end of this tale.
I'm coming back home
I still whisper your name

But you go now.
leaving me like leaving this town.
Said you don't want no one around,
since I was calling your ghost
I never thought we've been so star-crossed.
Running ahead I stayed hindmost.
Your heart since never been ever so close.

I still recall that smell of your smoke
I breathed in the turbid silence you broke.
Why are you looking at me just like that?
I look out the window, you sit on my bed
I love how you stand up greeting my parents.
I said day without you is like a year in the barrens.
You laugh then you say that I always exaggerate things.
That was the time when I should have stopped make dreams.

But you go now.
leaving me like leaving this town.
Said you don't want no one around
since I would summon your ghost
I never thought we've been so star-crossed.
Running to me to stay so close.
Your touch, something that nobody knows.

Now I'll keep the distance like you kept it in the hall.
You're passing me by like I'm someone you don't know.
And I'll follow with my eyes your
back as you fade in the crowd.
Sorry I let you down.

I know when it's  winter and it's dusk in your room.
The bleaks of the sunset reminds me of you.
It's hidden from knowledge, mysterious story.
The one where you don't say, that now it's all over.

But you go now.
Leaving me like leaving this town.
Said you don't want no one around
since I was burning so slow
I never thought we've been so star-crossed.
Running to me to stay so close.
Your touch, something that nobody knows
