Prince Rostislav - it is a magical poem!
The wonderous act takes place under the water,
Where the defeated hero prays to Perun
So despairate at bottom of the Dnieper.
It sounds very solemn and so mournful,
So tragic and appealing, so deep!
The Golden waves run over the heart, broken,
And music with the awful mermaids sings.
As if there's premonition - in a foreign
land to be swallowed up by futile waves,
As if this bitterness which feels is going
To full abandonment and tragic death.
How prophesizing everything is, the fate
Of countrymen from song cannot be hidden,
Music slightly revealed to us that there
is God above, and He plans everything.
