Double standards

Proclaiming Christ in words but not in deeds,
it’s like letting grow wild weeds!
When you with the ungodly coalesce,
your double standards cannot God impress.

Why do you hope that the Lord would bless
him, who are causing to his friends distress,
him, who can slander, smear, and betray,
and walk from godly principles astray?

By cherishing deception, sinful fun,
reflect a little bit: what have you done?
If you are tepid – neither hot, nor cold,
“I’ll spit you out!” Jesus Christ had told.

The momentary pleasures soon will fade.
Have you forgotten, in whose image made
you are? Whose name do you wear?
Please, answer: where are you heading, where?

Christ paid for us the highest ever price.
Obedience He wants, not sacrifice!
And if He is your friend, your King, your Lord,
keep in your actions with His words accord!

“By their fruit you’ll know them,” He said.
Are you alive or the living dead?
You cowardice and malice cannot hide,
and worms of envy, egotism, and pride!

The heart that’s lacking love, compassion, joy
for others, can eventually destroy
its own soul with its greed and lust,
by undermining a divine trust.

We were entrusted, yes, with sacred words.
Who’s ruling over you, the Lord of lords
or demons of manipulation, fear, lies,
deceiving “you are wise in your eyes”?

Pretending wouldn't save your soul, because
Christ Jesus is the Truth, He sees all flaws.
With flattery Christ cannot be deceived;
lies always the Holy Spirit grieved!

Without gratitude, without shame,
your life is a stain on Christ’s name
and at the end deserves a harsher sentence.
It’s worthless, yes, without a true repentance!
