Why must I leave and walk away,
Lose all I cherished, all I knew?
My heart still yearns, but I can’t stay,
A trail remains, now faded too.
They won’t recall me anymore,
Time swept away what once was dear.
And as I go, my heart feels sore,
I leave, but still, I shed a tear.
I found such love I never knew,
A warmth I never thought I’d feel.
And now to lose it — it’s untrue,
How can I leave what’s been so real?
I’ll miss the love I found right here,
Its tender light, so soft, so true.
But now it fades — I’m lost in fear,
And all that’s left is me, with you.
