I Thought I Had Forgotten

I thought I had forgotten,
And now I'm meeting you by chance.
With that quick glance, I would have gotten,
My soul embraced you all at once.

I caught your sight in hundred faces
Forgetting people on my way.
It's hard to rasp away the traces
Of love that trying find its stay.

I didn’t linger, I just froze,
As trappy wind brought back your scent.
I tried, but couldn’t, I suppose,
Falling deep into thoughts I resent.

You, as before, with a fake smile,
Pretended you didn’t see me.
You're making someone else feel worthwhile,
With a love you just happened to be.

I woke up, and suddenly recalled,
There’s a home that’s waiting for me.
A twinge of pain, but I moved on,
And kept walking my path, now free.
