A long time ago and far away
A poor minstrel lived.
He sung and played a mandolin
Though skills today run cheap.

Under the shade of rainy clouds
Or sunny skies above,
Despite the flame of a beating heart
He could’t find true love.

There are the days life treats you hard
And puts you on the ground,
But if you want find your one love
Just simply look around.

In every town and every place
Wherever had he been
He played his songs for that’s the fate
Of those who lives to sing.

But even when he wrote the one
Most splendid and most fine
No matter his excess of charm
True love he couldn’t find.

The years passed, not two or three,
The Earth was spinning fast,
But few are capable of seeing

The Minstrel’s return -
The neighbour’s daughter, that before
Was a child when he left home.

He looked into her eyes so green
And she got lost in his.
Their wedding were a lot of beans
And very tasty cheese!
