Chorny S. A cloying syrup
When on the swings, madam cheers,
Chirping: «See here, m’dears!
Sun has pecked the scrubs on time,
Birdie’s straightened to the chime;
She is hugging chamomile,
Eating porridge with a smile…»
Children all stare through panes;
Heeding the madam’s refrains,
In the unchildish eyes
Sadness and sullenness lies.
Then a small voice resigns:
Who’s kept a count of lines?
