EUGENE ONEGIN THE NOVEL IN VERSE BY A.S. PUSHKIN VERSE INTERPRETATION BY LARISSA SENEGAL

Monsieur

Вот мой Онегин на свободе;

Мог изъясняться и писал;
И кланялся непринужденно;

Chapter I-IV

When youth's rebellious flame did seize,
Eugene, a soul of hopes and ease,
Monsieur was banished from his door,
And he, a free man, roamed once more.

His hair, a canvas of London's latest trend,
Styled with precision, dressed as a dandy's blend.
The world beheld him, free, bright and bold,
A youth of promise, stories to be told.

In French, he spoke with fluent grace,
His pen danced with an easy pace.
Mazurka's steps he knew with ease,
And bowed with nonchalance to please.

Society deemed him wise and kind,
A charming presence, much to find.
His wit and charm, a radiant beam,
Eugene, the darling of upper class's dream.
