Coined by Lewis Carroll in the poem “Jabberwocky” from the novel Through the Looking-Glass (1871):
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.
Perhaps meant to suggest fabulous or joyous.
