In the middle of the first thousand BC
India was called the Persian province on the Indus River, and the state of Qin was just one of the true principalities on the territory of modern China. India here is not only the designation of the Ganges Valley, but also of those countries that are now called Pakistan and Bangladesh, and China is a state located at that time between the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. The word China (China in English) comes from the name of the state of Qin — Chin, or rather, from the word "tea", in Chinese it sounds with an ascending intonation as "chaaa". This is an external name. The Chinese themselves call their country differently – that is, the Middle Country, while the Russians first called this country the Celestial Empire, and then they began to call China. What does it mean? Two options: either in the sense of the letter combination "ki" - militant, or from the Russian word "Chinese" - a product made of col-ored scraps sewn together, quilts, floor mats and much more were sewn from them in Russia. Perhaps this meant, as applied to the state, the unification of the most different nationalities on the same territory, which is quite consistent with reality. In the words of one of the heroes of Virudhak's novel: "There are many countries in China, but there is not enough monarch-unifier." However, this is not a confederation, it is still separate kingdoms "stitched" together, which is more like a piece (or a remnant) of some ancient world that has miraculously survived to the present day, to which many characters of the novel constantly, albe-it vaguely, refer. And the Russians gave this name to China. This as-sumption is also supported by the fact that the Moscow Chinese city (a place next to St. Basil's Cathedral) is also multicolored, that is, it is a symbol of the multinational nature of Russia - it is enough to look at the mottled, multicolored, and all such different tops of this Cathedral in the very center of ancient Moscow. Modern names and names are used here. The Mediterranean Sea, for example, or Confucius; but Af-ghanistan and long-suffering Iran are called by their ancient names - Bactria and Persia. Distances are measured in miles, and as for dates, the narrator correlates them with the time when he began to dictate his response to the speech of Herodotus, who had not yet received the title "father of history" at that time. So, let it happen on the evening of De-cember 20, 445 BC.
