The Word of God

When I am scripture's words inspecting,
to find truth - it is my goal.
The image of the Christ reflecting,
the Bible searches through my soul.

The pearl of Christ - His deepest essence
is hidden in the Bible's lines,
and God's divine holy presence
mysteriously there shines.

From errors and from traps protecting
and saving from the final wrath,
with the eternity connecting,
it keeps me on the right path.

His words go swiftly as an arrow
by pinning sins to save my life.
They separate bones and marrow,
sharp as a blade of a knife.

God's Spirit dwells in every sentence,
it points at my sins and faults,
it leads to sorrows of repentance
and any wrong desires halts.

It helps me to withstand each blow
and comforts me in times of grief,
it makes the seed of faith grow
and strengthens daily my belief.

Rejecting aspirations carnal,
the Spirit guides my heart to pray.
It gives me promises eternal,
and opens afresh new way.

Not worldly benefits and pleasures
for me priorities dictate.
The words of God, their hidden treasures,
my soul richly saturate.
