It takes a lot of things to build a nest:
Resourcefulness, determination, zest,
Resistance to whatever gives you grief,
Procrastination bouts, prolonged or brief,
A multitude of self-created traps,
A precious stone or two but mostly scraps.
Sometimes you sing. Sometimes you moan and groan.
Sometimes with others and sometimes alone,
You're on a fascinating lifelong quest
To build your very best (im)perfect nest.
