Little kitten

A little kitten lost his mittens,
Now he can't go out to play,
It's winter, cold, and oh so bitter,
But Mama cat will save the day.

With needles clicking, yarn a-twisting,
She knits him mittens, soft and new,
In colors bright, they're quite inviting,
A perfect pair, or maybe two.

"Now don't you worry," purrs Mama gently,
"These will keep you warm and snug,
Go join your friends, the snow is waiting,
Give them all a happy hug."

With mittens on, he's out the doorway,
Into the winter, crisp and white,
His heart is light, his paws are cozy,
He'll play until the sky turns night.

Thank you, Mama, for the mittens,
For warmth and care that never ends,
Now I can make the most of winter,
With these mittens, I'll play with friends.
