Snowball
Going home with zest and glee.
There was a boy hiding behind the tree
Making snowballs to shoot her.
When he leaped, she couldn't make a stir
The snow hit her little rosy cheek.
Suddenly a narrow salty leak
Burst from her blue eyes.
And the guy could not therefore disguise
Running up to her he said:
I know it was too bad to treat you like that.
Forgive me. He stretched his arm and took
The girl's schoolbag with a guilty look.
The boy wished to see her home,
He hated leaving the girl alone.
Through tears she smiled at him tenderly
And followed him steadily.
Fifteen years have passed ever since.
The young man, who was that boy, convinced
The young lady to be his wife.
Watching his beloved all in white
He remembered the snowball's flight
And her tears that changed their life.
