Shadows sestina poem
My attempt to write a sestina poem.
Forbidden Forest in the night,
I go deeper seeing lurking shadows
All hiding. Here comes the moon.
Without fright, I run into the woods.
A speck of silver fled my eyes,
I follow it to the moonlight dance.
I'm meeting fay folk for a dance,
Forgotten worries, lovely night,
All sparkling, more than meets the eyes.
I'm blinded by light and shadows.
Blessed their shine, forbidden woods
Seem singing hymns and praise the moon.
Above all us ascends the moon.
I'm greeting it with a little dance.
Bright sparkles, haunting ancient woods,
Are swinging, spinning in the night,
And silver glow consumes the shadows,
They are just seen as glowing eyes.
I'm dreaming, let me close my eyes,
And even so I spy above - the moon,
The forest, lights and dancing shadows.
I lurk and hide, with them I dance,
To save the day I'll spend the night
With finest fairy of the woods.
Deeper and deeper lead the woods,
But through the darkness see my eyes.
And you can drive away the night,
The fairest lady, lovely Moon.
With you I fly, I spin, I dance!
I drink your light, I'm one with shadows.
I'm night myself and lurking shadows,
I'll stay forever in the woods.
And every night I'll spin, I'll dance!
I see the woods without eyes.
I cast a spell here every moon.
I'm luring you into the night.
Be part of shadows with no eyes,
Let’s dwell in woods and praise the moon.
And every night we’ll spin and dance.
