flying so high above all
circling over the night
waiting for someone to fall
fall, not to leave but to help
get up with some new thorns
picking it carefully from
wounded souls, wounded skins, wounded bones
eating it all with a smile
leaving it all behind.
careful with powerful blows
feathers so soft and sore
watching you over again
helping you build up your strength.
