I do not want to be a mother
On this vile planet!
This pain is overwhelming!
I used to be afraid of infertility.
But now I am afraid of my fertility.
I'm welcoming, I find, the inability --
To carry, and to bear, and to raise;
To cherish, and to dote at every phase;
To measure; and to ground; to watch them growing;
To bandage knees; to comfort when they're yelping;
To hold their hands -- their life force slowly fading.
I cannot bear being fertile
On this gruesome planet!
