Я слышал колокола на Рождество

Колокола звенят, играют,
вещают миру Рождество,
колядки дети исполняют,
да будет мир и торжество.
Я над словами день размыслил
и колокольный звон пленил.
Просили мира все у выси
и благость людям, свежих сил.
Склонил я голову в печали,
нет мира вовсе на земле.
А, люди песни распевали
и горько очень стало мне.
Но колокольный звон стал громче,
что Бог не мёртвый, он не спит,
что зло падёт и между прочим,
мир на земле благоволит.
И звон стоял, колядки пели,
от ночи время шло ко дню.
И к Богу песни те летели,
с тех пор я песни те храню.
