The everlasting morning
Good morning! I say, Good morning!
All the windows I open wide.
Good morning! I say, Good morning!
I’ll take you today for a ride.
I’ll show you the evergreen morrow,
Camellias and lilacs in bloom,
And, cutting the edge of tomorrow,
I’ll helplessly say “ I love you”.
The wings of the sunrise I
Will spread all over the meadows.
Good morning, I say, be not shy,
Come out of grayish shadows
Into the world wide open,
Be not just a guest, but the Master,
Let the hot summer air make you sober,
Let this morning be everlasting.
