At a breath s distance

The high-ceiled hall with gothic arches was filled with the echo of barely subtle chatter of prelates gathered in a circle. Two torches were burning on each of the walls as well as their pillars. However, their flickering light barely reached the center of the room. And there she stood: a young woman in a long burgundy-brown dress with loose, slightly curly chestnut-colored hair and grey eyes. The shadowy presence figured she had given up, so they tried hard to cuff her hands and feet within their own imagination. But she stood freely with a proud posture, simply observing the ongoing events as if she were looking at herself from the side. The rays of a noontime sun breached through openings in the tower and illuminated her silhouette. Now, one could not spot a single drop of fear in her new self, only a strange feeling of confusion and oblivion.
Feeling the warmth of the sunrays on her shoulders, she seemed to freshen up a little, as if she felt that long-forgotten sense of wings on her back. Carefully turning her head, she saw two half-translucent figures that stood aside her. They didn't talk, just looked in her eyes, trying to remind her of something with their hardly perceptive smiles. The prelates however didn't notice the presence of the figures at all, and continued to prepare their final accusative verdict to get rid of whom they considered an irritating slave.
Her quiet messiahs, without saying one word, were speaking to her with solely the looks of theirs: "time to go!"
And right away the three of them flew up and under the arches. Having landed beneath one of them, a companion, finally being able to speak, asked her: "Do you at all remember, who you really are?". It was that very question which acted as a sort of trigger to unleash the vivid memories of her last life. The life she slipped away from to land in the place she was at a few moments ago. And without being fully conscious of the memory she was about to share, she said: "Yes, I remember. I was the queen of this place". The other companion spoke with a barely visible smile: "Are you ready to return your true power?". "Yes!", she answered without really thinking. Looking down she just saw the dizzying height they were at. The rays of a summer sun lit up the streets and rooftops of a great city that covered the ground. Beyond the city's walls, a steppe extended beyond the horizon line, occasionally broken up by low hills and copses. A broad river flowed into the distance reminiscently of a silvery ribbon.
After seeing this scenery, her memory started returning much faster. She remembered how she and the king reigned peacefully in love and agreement with this beautiful country. There was no division into rich and poor, every citizen had equal rights to participate in important decisions that helped creating the environment for their community. However, the main mission of the king and queen was preserving the ancient knowledge and wisdom in an undistorted way. The wisdom they came with to help with the attuning of every person's life in the kingdom and unite everyone with the nature, the sky and the earth.
"Well then, now let's take care of something else!", said the companion standing off to the right next to her. At the same time, three translucent bands extruded from the edge of the tower right beneath their feet. Having just stepped on them, they immediately found themselves in a roomy corridor with large windows wide open. The dawning sun was filling the entire space with its cool freshness. Yes, everything seemed familiar to her, every single corner. In this castle, she lived and served her royal duty with her husband. And now, walking through such familiar corridors, passages and terraces, she felt how her every step reflected in her heart as a bright flash of memories of their past life. Walking up to the entrance of a large hall, she stopped to try and dump any thoughts and expectations regarding whatever could happen next. One of her guides felt her confusion, he laid his hand on her shoulder and quietly said: "Just trust..." as he opened the door and let her walk up front.
The huge hall with a high ceiling alight with shafts of light was full with the scent of spring flowers and  overflows of singing birds. By one of the wide open windows a man was reclining in a broad armchair. In the attempt of taking a closer look at his face, she came closer. He also was looking at her just as intently. She immediately recognized his dense black hair that made its way down to his shoulders but his face was as strange as one of an entirely different person. Still, apart from his outer appearance not matching, she felt that it was him: her husband. But he, as opposed to her, was left indifferent, even after thoroughly spectating her. It seemed like nothing interested him at all, neither inside nor outside. There was just a barely perceivable shadow of oblivion and confusion visible in his look. She called him by name, but it had no effect on him whatsoever. She told him her name, but the result was the same.
But then her mysterious guides transported her to the walls of their royal castle just by slightly touching her hands. This is where the people of their country had already gathered at a river's bank. Just like her, the people were trying to return the consciousness of their king while being dominated from every side by a shadow dividing and reveling in power. "A queen without a kingdom, a king without memories, a desperate folk...", all of it was revolving inside her thoughts. And again, her wise companions were there to help. They helped her remember what happened back then.
During the times of their country's great prosperity, they once got a visit from pilgrims that assured the king of their supposedly clean intentions of bringing the same prosperity and harmony to other worlds beyond the kingdom's borders, intentionally speaking to him during the queen's absence. For that, they just needed access to some of the ancient knowledge, the carriers of which were the rulers of the country. The king was very trusting, like any person that never experienced darkness. So he shared the knowledge he thought could never be used to harm. Having just received their desired knowledge, they erased all energy- and information traces from the entire space right away, swapping them with the exact opposite. That way they were able to get rid of the king's free will, his wise power and even his face, leaving the people the mere impression that it was the same king that reigned in the country. But his consciousness was just as incarcerated as the knowledge he had given. The queen was led into the dungeons through the indistinct agreement of the numb king, where they tried to convince her to serve them. However, after not being successful, they eventually erased her memory as well. Yet her will remained strong. For that reason, they decided to simply execute her. And at that exact moment, her divine messiahs appeared in the hall of court. Her mind may have been sleeping but her soul was calling. And finally connecting with the rays of light, her call for help was heard through golden threads by her divine family, which sent her companions.
Well, now everything became much clearer. Having accomplished their mission, the companions left. Further down the road, she now needed to choose her way herself and save the people from the oncoming darkness.
A massive stone bridge crossed the river facing away from the wall. Past it, near the shore, was a dense forest. Off to the left and through the forest led a wide path multiple people could walk on simultaneously. On the right side, a narrow path went off until it disappeared in a thicket. However, after spotting a barker on the wide path, her intuition immediately refused that way as an opportunity.
But suddenly, when she had decided on the escape route, an enlightenment struck her just like a lightning. She couldn't even explain to herself why she had to do this but a sort of inner peace gave her precise instructions.
She asked a number of men from the anxious surrounding crowd to bring the longest and most sturdy pine log from the edge of the forest. At the same time, herself and the women knitted a long and solid rope out of the belts they had on their dresses. When the preparations were finished came the time for astonishment of the gathered. She asked to tie her with the rope to the end of the log and descend her into the river. While not grasping the purpose, the people yet fulfilled her request, looking at each other with suspicion. In a couple of minutes, the setup was finished. With her arms and legs tightly tied to the log, she was brought to the embankment's slope and slowly lowered into the water. Right when her body and mind started to entirely feel the flow of the river and connect to the energy of the earth, which filled her by finding its way through the log, a bright sunbeam pierced the water surface. Everything happened at right time at the right place!
She returned. Her real self. Her divine self. She is eternal: a goddess with wings of platinum feathers, able to grow a platinum fin in water. With the beams of mighty energy that emerged from her palms, eyes and the center of her forehead, she easily freed herself from the fetters and soared towards the sky. Her hair was blinding-white with golden locks and grey-platinum eyes. She could be whoever she wanted, yet always stayed herself.
Concerning him, it now became clear why her husband didn't recognize her. It was not possible since back then, she couldn't even remember her own true self.
Having flown through an open window into an already familiar hall, she now looked at him with her heavenly stare. At that point, words weren't necessary anymore. The energies of their unity straightened their divine purpose, restoring the harmony of the male and female aspects. And now he as a beautiful god with wings, lightly curled black hair and big shining black pearl-like eyes, could not take his look off his wife, with whom he had come to earth after hearing the melody of her soul as a call of their new divine path.
;
Now the darkness had no chance for anything a human is not capable of, god is. And the humans as his messiahs and children bore this truth within themselves.
Out of everyone that was standing in front of the castle's walls some were able to see this truly miraculous festival of life in all its greatness and rise up with their spirits to accept their newly reintroduced paths. The others however stayed on their previous paths and could only perceive the ongoing as the return of the previous monarchic power. Among them were also those who had already managed to stick to the shadow side. They now had to leave the kingdom for all eternity.
Time dissolved in the sunrays, turning the sequence of remarkable events into a weaving pattern of joy.
The rays of a dawning sun lit up the rooftops, streets and gardens of this land of wonders. The air was filled with scents of spring flowers and the premonition of a celebration. The music of the spheres was playing united with the earth's melody and created an enchanting symphony of inspiration. In this symphony, to the rhythm of the heart, they performed their heavenly dance of love and unity: the eternally beautiful and free divine souls appearing as angels - him and her.
Right when the sun arose in all its beauty above the horizon, they flew up onto an open terrace of the highest tower downtown. On that terrace, under an arch of climbing roses and lilies stood a snow-white cradle, where their glorious child sat. A girl with curly golden hair and big blue eyes was looking towards the sun, greeting it within herself. Aurora - the bringer of dawn to the world.
