Constellation of Antoine
Missiles whistled and winds were lashing,
Down corkscrewed the airplane, crashing –
But he lives, smile and laughter flashing
Through the Antoine Constellation…
Little knew he of death or danger:
Full of life, and to age – a stranger,
When the storms and the Fates were raging,
Smiled the poet, both sad and sagely.
Yet he knew that the fox was lonely,
That a friendship was hardly phony,
That a rose was never homely
If you loved it, and love takes honing…
See those stars? – They are laughing, breathing,
They’re childish, dancing, reeling –
Spirits live there, who know of freedom
Lives the pilot, magician, dreamer…
Dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exup;ry,
A true sage, magician and a creator
of words and worlds…
