A Sonnet to the Goddess of Cherry Hair
but looking out in the same direction
- Antoine Du Saint Exupery
Jump, and you will find out
how to unfold your wings as you fall.
- Ray Bradbury
Her eyes of green – two lakes without bottom,
Her cherry hair – rustling in the wind;
The Queen of seasons – summer, winter, autumn, -
She helped you grow courage, heart, and wings.
Avoid her, if it’s freedom you desire;
Behold her, and you’re captive to her charms:
Her smile and laugh will set your soul on fire,
Her eyes will trap, but trap to no harm.
Who is this girl, who sports a cold latte
And cherry hair over a pond? –
Your souls and hers are playing an Andante
On string of admiration, not despond.
Of being in love you’re guilty, and indicted.
She no other than the Goddess Aphrodite…
