Today I want to show you, folks,
The real purpose of small talks.
It's not the weather we discuss:
In fact, we talk about us.
Small talk to other people proves
That we have neither horns nor hooves,
That we are not from caves or woods -
It's all about friendly moods,
So, all that nonsense only means
That human beings are not machines,
We talk of trifles so that
We get them ready for a chat,
We make small talk to check and see
That they are just like you and me.
