A cornflower day

A touch the petals gently
As you make tea,
I listen to your stories
Of strength and fragility,
You are a sign
Of knwoledge and joy,
You are like a parachute
That someone has to deploy,
So as we get closer,
Early in the evening,
Just after the sunset,
You pull me into your arms
And a cornflower
Is thrown into the river,
So pure and wet.
