Charon

In Greek mythology, Charon or Kharon (/;k;;r;n, -;n/; Ancient Greek: ;;;;;) is a psychopomp, the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased who had received the rites of burial, across the river Acheron (or in some later accounts, across the river Styx) that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead - from an encyclopedia.

Charon,
A welcomer
Of the deceased,
A ferryman
At the endless Styx,
Your life is made of water,
And a devastatingly cold wind.
Your presence means
Someone starts a journey
Into the underworld.

Your sadness
Has roots in the past,
And in two elements you thrive.
You exist on a brink
Of someone else's death.
