Sonnet 21

think of a name that gives a good start to the poem

When nightly coolness spills its dew
Upon the flaming rays of day
And with a tender kiss anew
Makes nature, tired of swelter's sway,
And wets the arid soil and green
Which withered in the dusty air
With fruits and flowers wan and lean,
And gives them honey of her care,
And jumps the pond to cool the blue,
And takes the fever of the rocks,
And animals, softs it in dew,
And Heaven's curing quiet unlocks...
I see what does revives me too :
Kind God with cool and honey You!

OLD VERSION

When nightly coolness spills it's dew
Upon the flaming rays of day,
And with a tender kiss anew
Makes nature, tired by swelter's sway
And wets the dried soil and green
Which withered in the dusty air
With flowers, fruits breathless and lean,
And gives them honey of her care,
And jumps the pond to cool the blue,
And takes the fever of the rocks,
And animals, softs it in dew,
And Heaven's curing quiet unlocks...
I see what does revives me too :
Kind Lord and cool, soft, honey You!
