Entropy
Halfway down a good-start run,
And small portions of all that we build
Are eroded by wind and sun
Every second disease takes its toll -
Man breaks down just like a machine
Our monkey brain loses control,
Giving in to addiction routines
Every second all hope is lost,
And there's someone about to leave,
Having finally figured the cost
Of that bullshit - the faith of leap
Every second a child is raped,
Beaten, bullied, orphaned or sold
While another believer agape
Talks of grace in amounts untold
Every second wildlife is maimed,
Pets are tortured or thrown away
With no care for what we have tamed
We destroy and we burn and we slay
Every second a war paints red
Miles of ground and pages of fates
And all sorts of the crap we are fed
Pile up at incredible rates
Every second is time far too late,
Something goes so totally wrong,
Flaws and errors accumulate
Past the point of no return
There's no one to rely on and call
Our body and spirit to mend,
Every second we fail and fall
On the meaningless march to our end
Out there supernovas explode
Wiping out inhabited worlds
While the righteous and proud still hope
Someone needs their dime-worth souls
It's the primal fault under the hood,
With all life as fragile as clay
There's forever more evil than good
Just cause entropy works one way
