Until the sullenness of night has fallen

Until the sullenness of night has fallen
Until the stillness of the Moon shines through
I’m walking by the streets so stray and hollow
Wrapped up above in air pure and blue

July has whispered silence in the evening
Ajar are doors of neighbours, no-one’s in
And here again the stingy creepy feeling
Arisen up above from dusty wind

It whispers ghosts of long forgotten mornings
I am a child who’s shivering in frost
A boundless while away from adult’s mournings
But now the south of youth’s the gelid north

Goodbye, the sunny Sunday with the parent
Goodbye, the unaware little brain
It is so cold, the earth’s so still and barren
And so long lasting pangs of aging pain
