Happiness
The child of yours – first step and word
The sight unseen, the sound unheard
And kitten purring on your lap
Get to adore a real catnap
The lotto ticket which has won
And love that makes you feel reborn
To eye a friend, long-lost and found
Your troubles gone and you’re unbound
Ski wind is whistling, downward slope
Research’s complete and offers hope
Blue sea, white beach and cares gone
The two of you meet reddish dawn
An open road, beguiling forth
At home on planet we call Earth
Good book that shakes you to the bone
Lovemaking with the sweetest groan
“Dead presidents” are joy to hold
Remain healthy growing old
The old jeans fit, ain’t that a bliss
Remember your sweethearts’ first kiss?
We crave long life and seek delight
Yet everyone sees different light
List incomplete, I know it’s true
So what is happiness to you?
