How can I explain
For someone I barely know?
Like a bridge, a castle,
A mountain range
You seem to be too high,
Too mysterious.
How can I show
My deep admiration?
Sometimes I think you're made up by people like me
And it's hard to tell facts from opinions.
Something so fragile
In your ever-young look,
In your voice, too convincing
Makes me turn pages
In desperate search
For the real you,
And I crave
For facts,
However complicated they are.
The streets are full of people
With sad or empty eyes.
How are your eyes
So all-consuming
Like a forest fire?
I can't tame it
But it's too high in the air,
So it only captures
My attention.
