Kerry James Marshall Memento 5 poem
And white,
Light and darkness,
Colours are loud,
And the light screams.
I open the window
For a new day to rise up,
With new intentions
In the city that never sees me,
Never notices my pace or my voice,
It is too clear
That today I will be walking the hectic streets
And later I will be listening to jazz in my place,
But the city is too enormous
And my soul
Drowns into it.
The light and the darkness
Dance together
In the rhythm
Of a megapolis.
