A Punch That Keeps Coming Back
It was like a tide crushing the sky,
Haven’t quite recovered from that.
Pain still echoes and hovers inside.
That’s a punch that keeps coming back.
It buried me deep beneath the sea.
No one heard me scream.
As water smothered me,
I softly recited mantra you preached.
That’s a tide that sneaks back in.
It’s a like it went through a wall.
Like a bullet it left a hole,
The size of it untold.
Walls don’t bleed, they stand proudly tall.
That’s a bullet that has pierced us all.
I might open old wounds
To recover through and through.
They don’t understand it, I hope you do.
Please see me through, I will not ask much of you.
That’s a punch that keeps coming anew.
