A novel with a key

A key to your soul
Is thousands miles away from here,
But the look of your eyes,
Disarmingly playful,
Doesn't correlate with the depth of your mind.

I touch the door
Which is closed.
I hear my name behind it,
It is your voice that calls me.

People take part
In a carnival,
Then they fast,
Then they close their doors.

You fly above the Earth
Trying to catch the language
And maybe someone else,
The password is too strong,
Why would you need to know my address?

I'd like to see you
Near the San Marco cathedral
When the purgatory turns into paradise
And we look into the sky
As if we were toddlers on another planet.

The water whispers
'Glad to see you',
Even when you tired,
I look into the water of a canal
And recall a long day off
Years ago

When we met
In front of a huge high-rise building.
