Written only because of homework

Oh, welcome there, my fellow dear reader!
Just let me introduce my little poem;
I hope it's not forgotten. You know, the Reaper
She takes not only life-forms. As well ideas
Entombed in million literary annals,
Awaiting for their cherished own renaissance.

So why d' I write? Not only 'cause of homework
Requiring patience, no distraction, muse
(Of course she’s there! Thalia is my comrade,
Despite receiving her poetical abuse)
I write to leave some texts to be remembered
Not as T.E. or Yeats! They’ve far ascended.

So I need a hero! But one that;s not uncommon;
The one you meet in daily normal life,
Be it a black; or white; or gay; in sorrow...
A usual guy but not a programmed knight.
Be it like me, like you, oh, dear reader;
I'm a humble writer and you are my receiver.

I mention "it" to not convict misgender,
Misrace, misage, mis… thing which causes changes
So vast that don't affect this poem but the anger...
You know, offended reader's thought all ranges
From one's that sees: it's part of a literature —
Concern my choice not as offense but feature.

The man or woman that I want so badly
(Tis not a doublespeak! Such shame upon me?)
Tis of any color or religion. Medleys
Of a soul — that makes my own so horny
(Tis metaphor! God save me … such rebellion!)
Enough! Our hero's literally alien!

***
— Who;s there?
— A poet!
—Leave! I’m taking tub!
— But you’re my hero!
— Tis a story of cock’n’bull!
— But… my poem…

— No! I’ve said enough! And why d’ I talk in verses rhymed?
— Sorry (tis not because on me you’re rough)
But now, my friend, in poem you;re stuck!

—Oh, so I’ll be a part of an eternal art?
Like Byzantium’s sages in the golden fire?
And will I be as an ancestor remarked
With flesh decayed but soul in a poetic gyre?
—Well, since I’ve got my count of words completed,
Goodbye, my friend (and dear reader), take care of tub, you need it!

***

Oh, precious reader, tis difficult to leave
(As well as your unique ungrateful hero)
But life lives on and we should all proceed
To being unknown or infamous, say, Nero.
I’ll try to keep in shape my subtle sanity
And thanks for reading my metanarrative.
