you have glanced
into this abyss,
tell me, wasn't your head dizzy?
was there a ray of light in the depth?
did you make out at least something?

it thundered like a thousand cannons
i saw the bottom of ages' canyon
and i learned--there's no place there for us

--if you had looked into this abyss
tell me, maybe still there is hope?
was there a glimmer of day in the darkness?
did you see a flicker of dawn?

it was all as if in a mist
i looked for only a moment; i could fall down, i feared
only one thing was clear to me,
only one thing--that place cannot be reached!

oh diviner, you lie!
we've lived, we're living and will live forever!
an infant will see through your guile
and your lies are so depraved!
so why are you taking me by the arm?

Был ли проблеск дня в темноте?
Разглядел ты, как восход забрезжил?

- Все было словно в полутьме
И я смотрел лишь миг – боялся сорваться.
Только одно было ясно мне,
Только одно – туда не добраться!

- Ясновидящий, это ложь!
Мы жили живы и будем жить вечно!
Младенцу понятно, что ты лжешь
И ложь твоя так бесчеловечна!
Зачем же руку мою берешь?
