I've bought some daffodils
In buds. For just a pound.
I thought: "It's a deal!"
And bought a bunch
"to test the ground".
They looked, at first,
Just lost and gloom...
But I untied them
in my room.
And find a vase.
Then cooked my lunch.
Soon they became...
a blooming bunch!
They filled my room
With fresh "perfume"
(Or with "a fragrance"
Fitted better.
You understand:
It's not "the letter",
It's all about
"fragrant bloom"!)
And here they are!
Despite of cold,
Despite of our isolation,
There is a hope...
against all odds.
These daffodils are
such an inspiration!
