Aestival

When I finally set foot upon land
And lie down on the shimmering sand,
I will bathe in the sun rarely known
Through the years my journey has spanned

Walking along the shore me to greet,
With the surf kissing her bare feet,
Wished to life by my lonely nights' longing,
She will come, joyful, tender and neat

We will sit on a cliff and behold
The grand vistas all round unfold
In the colours of lush southern summer:
Amber, emerald, sapphire and gold

Where days flow by hot and bright
And cool nights grow thick with starlight,
Where all dreams shall come true, and the dearest
Is to see my loved ones reunite

Through the simple and slow-paced mores
Of these faraway uncharted shores
I will find my peace and my home,
Cure for all of my troubles and sores

In this land I forever will stay,
My ship anchored for good in the bay,
And build castles of sand never caring
That the ocean will wash them away
