This is what Trotsky said about Balmont,
And he has read his poem upside down,
In words, without changing it at all.
Not finding there synthesis, idea,
Behind thin haze of decadence to hear
The sounds of beauty, language he could not,
He never reached Parnassus to its top.
He made fun of him kindly, very slightly,
The symbol of the age of pessimism,
(and symbol- that's the truth in calling Balmont),
apologized for his clean-handed wits.
Earth lives in isolation from Ideas,
Between her and the sky - the gap is great!
Esthete is integral to skyey spheres,
In the down world - the logic make it break.
