Autumn Frenkel-Goff

autumn's near, it's august in window
and the bushes have darkened from rain
and that you like me now, i know
just like i liked you when i thought we were twain

so why is grief engulfing your soul?
so why are you so doleful with me?
guess the August put out the coal
that could burn only in early spring

rowan trees getting dark in the window
at the window rain knocks without a stop
it's a shame that forgetting some sorrows
is too hard for our hearts, and there is no hope

not for nothing grief's engulfing your soul
not for nothing you're so doleful with me
cause the August has put out the coal
that could burn only in early spring
