11. Up and down

We are in the building so tall
that we can observe the town.
On the ground, there is a dog.
We are up, the dog is down.

Look out the window –
you’ll see the town.
And you’ll see a dog there.
We’re up – it’s down.
We are so high that we
can see the town.
We are up, and that dog –
that dog is down.


In the yard, we see an oak tree.
Lots of leaves are in the crown.
Nearby, a little flower grows.
Leaves are up, the flower’s down.

Look out the window –
you’ll see the town.
And you’ll see a tree there.
We’re up – it’s down.
We can see the oak with
its leafy crown.
Leaves are up, the flower –
the flower’s down.


Look, one truck has brought a lot of sand,
and the other, from the town,
brought a little kitten. Sand is up –
and the little kitten’s down.

Look out the window –
you’ll see the town.
And you’ll see a truck there.
We’re up – it’s down.
We can see the truck with sand,
brought from the town.
Sand is up, the kitten –
the kitten’s down.
