Apple blossom and Flower arch
If I open the windows of my balcony in the late evening in the middle of July, the barely noticeable cool wind will blow. The roofs of the houses got heated during the day. The wind seems not to be like something refreshing but like something comforting and pacifying. By summer, my family took on a new habit. We put the flowerpots on the balcony in a such chaotic way, that people passing by could freely think that this balcony is something that looks more like a flower arch than a balcony itself. I adore sitting up late there and reading old novels, breathing in the freshness of the impending cool night. But when the same wind dispels the clouds to the north and the sky gets dark turning into a deep blue blur, my thoughts calmly seek the north too, as I think in one of the gardens the lingering scent of apples could be smelt.
As early as May you realize that this year there will be almost no apples, because there was little blossom on apple trees. In the evenings sitting in your garden, you like looking up at the sky leaning on the tree trunk. Your fingers are touching a bit of sluggish grass that during this long day suffered enough from the overly hot sun and you are thinking what the next day will bring. But it may happen that your thoughts soar not at all the next day nor the day after tomorrow… Maybe your thoughts are somewhere near the flower arch far away to the south of your house.
