JJ 2

When I’m old
And accidentally recall your name
I will awkwardly trip on it (and probably hit the wall)
The spark in my eyes
Will no longer shine on my way
Yet, in the dark, there will be nowhere to fall.

But now you’re a complex ball of light
Filled with my fantasies and obscuring the sun
Somehow it’s still bright
But I’m easily knocked to the ground
As you’ve risen above
My sanity and my pride

Well, then come down
If you want, I can show you around
This bustling city which is my soul
It reflects in your distant and yet so beautiful eyes
When I stand there all stripped down
Stomping on my ripped clothes.
I’m taking your for a stroll.

Let me embrace the moment
Although I nearly froze
to death
Your breath, it won’t warm me
Nor will your eyes
Captivating and cold
Even if you’re so close

The chill will enfold
My naked brain
Icing up future lies
(none of them was too clever).
Anyway
My intentions amount
to catching your sight
And locking it up in the hidden corner
Of my heart
I decided not to use
Ever

But you just appeared to have the key
From the tiny door
And it would have been shame
Not to try them out
Since you came.
Good, now slowly turn it around
And don’t touch it anymore

Perhaps, I will check on it later
When I’m old
And experience so many things
That this almost forgotten affection
Won’t hurt
When your voice suddenly springs
Into my mind

It will already know where to hide.

Here’s  where I’ll get the fire to keep the light
In my head:
I have started burning the letters I write
To you
And never send.
